Summer passed by in a blur. It was hot and it was dry while we were busy house hunting in Pennsylvania. Yes, with The Spouse’s retirement this summer and mine coming up by April next year, we are pulling up stakes and moving across state lines. Apparently not a moment too soon as the annual property tax bill revealed a 10%+ increase for the upcoming four quarters. Homes in our township have increased in value since last year and this now explains the tax increase, or so the mayor told me. Funny how we didn’t get a tax decrease when the house prices cratered at the last downturn in 2008.
